I was out canvassing for Reform UK (before I reformed my opinions on them) and came across two men who were obviously media types and so out of place in Clacton, that it has stayed in my memory. They were being harassed by a woman who was not the most eloquent and hardworking of the seaside town's inhabitants. I did my good deed and rescued them from her questions. I've since become a fan of the New Culture Forum and recognised Peter Whittle, I think, from that fateful day.
I watched him talk briefly about his illness and had put it to the back of my mind, so I was shocked to hear that he'd died. We need all the influential, level headed, people we can get and he must have worked incredibly hard to help us in our quest to restore some sort of societal normality.
Well done to Peter and my best wishes go to those close to him.
