Meaningful Wednesday
Jab whitewash, Father Alexander Men, & John Stuart Mill
Welcome to the Abi Daily Family.
Every day, usually around 6pm GMT, I tell you exactly what I’m thinking.
Pour yourself a drink, grab some cheesy comestibles, and enjoy.
Warning: includes lots of swearing, accents and sound effects.
Contains the best musical intro and outro in podcast history.
Meaningful Wednesday
Happy Meaningful Wednesday everyone and thanks for that splendid pod Abi.
What an absolute honour to have known Father Men in person, thank you for sharing him with us. The book is a bit beyond current budget so I’m really hoping you will pick out and read more of it in the future. I love the way that your path led you away from Cambridge (you’d have been one of ‘them’) and to way better opportunities and life moments. It was me who suggested pondering those times in your life and writing it down.
I particularly liked the quotes from Father Men, ‘the Bible as a compass for times to come’ and the comments about the desire to have power over nature...isn’t that what this whole climate change ‘thing’ is about...as if it’s even possible.
Definite sense of peace after listening to this...a sense that we are not alone and that people have also thought like us in the past...John Stuart Mill, ‘to maim by compression’, just let them try.
Honestly who’d have thought it would still be so relevant.

Another great POD Abi. I am a firm believer that everything happens in life for a reason. Jobs you get offered bit didn't take, something else comes by but better. House moves and the such.
