“we came across a lone poppy and I said: ‘that’s how so many of us have felt during the past three years.’ Then we saw a few more poppies, and Dimitris said: ‘look, there are other poppies calling out’.”
Beautiful read Abi. Many years ago I lived on the island of Rhodes, this took me back to all the wonderful things Greece has to offer away from the main tourist haunts.
I should say my sister still lives there, she married a Greek. Her husband was one of the few who did not succumb to the needle, boy was he ostracised. He was threatened with a monthly fine which never materialised (same as the Italians). So proud of him for standing his ground.
I remember Greece saying that those people over 65 years who didn’t take the 💉would have to pay a hefty monthly fine. I’m glad they never went ahead with that. In the Canaries earlier this year I was chatting to a young English guy who was running a bar for the Spanish owner. He said that everyone on the island had to have at least two jabs in order to work anywhere. He really didn’t want to have the 💉but he did to earn money to survive.
I think it was over 60 Jan - Sav was 60 at the time. He wasn't even able to sit outside cafes. They had to have a paper to go shopping and wear masks in 30 degree heat if they worked in the bars. No one was actually afraid of the "virus" - just their rotten government that forced them to behave like cattle.

It was all insane and inhumane. I hope that when the next ‘crisis’ arrives more people will stand up and be counted.
