Evening Abi, good on you for going. Sounds like it was one of those situations where you don’t feel like it beforehand but once you’ve dragged yourself out, you feel better for it. Being in the bosom of the Fam always makes for a great evening. Madeleine sounds like a bit of a ledge x
Sorry we missed you, Abi, but without your connection we wouldn’t have got to the after show party, mixing and chatting with the “names”, so a big thank you. Other people there included John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin fame, the legendary PP Arnold (“The First Cut Is The Deepest” and “Angel Of The Morning”) and Peter Straker, a close friend of Freddie Mercury. About Ben Miller, if you’re wondering what he was doing there. He is married to the daughter of Alan Parker, the Blue Mink guitarist. I was lucky also to chat to both Madeline and Roger Cook and pass on best wishes from an old friend they hadn’t seen in some 50 years or so. What a night, one I will always remember.
It’s my pleasure. So glad you enjoyed the night. Me and Jules must have just missed you at the after party! We got there a bit late. Shit, yes! I totally forgot to mention PP Arnold, Straker etc!! Sooo many music greats crammed into one room.
Jessica Parker – of course. I never made the connection.
It sounds like a wonderful evening surrounded by friends and live music. Perfect combination. So glad you went out Abi. The best times are often the most unexpected. The Crystal Gayle song reminded me of your own song "Turn the lights back on!" Similar vibe I think! I'm in Yorkshire but coming to the capital for a few days in June. Would love to meet you for a few drinks between gigs. So happy you all had a wonderful evening. No bauble chasers here just genuine people who care. Xx
Oh am glad you decided to put your glad rags on and get out for a few hours. We had a lovely afternoon with the family watching the Grand National. Safe to say no winners but the grandchildren had fun picking their horses and me having a few wines.
Sounds like Saturday night was just the tonic you needed, Abi. Personally, I have often had my best nights out when I have thought shall I bother but made an effort in the end so as not to let friends down. Madeleine sounds sublime so I have just ordered some of her old albums on vinyl to listen to. Will give my neighbours a rest from Joan Armatrading!
Absolutely brilliant evening with brilliant people ❤️ xx
Holly’s just done the British Seniors Homework advert as you do 😊 as a budding young actor. Jules, Shouty Mum both adorable and Annie. I could talk to Francis for hours loved him and Abi you’re a gem ! I feel very privileged to have been at the Madeline Bell concert just outstanding xx ❤️
First time ive listen to you in weeks. So glad you went Saturday. Shame I couldn't be there. Hope Jules was able to pass the ticket on. God where to start this one. My beautiful husband who i absolutely adore. Was taken into hospital. Something he never wanted to do. We had 2 weeks in our local hospital. 1 in London to repair a total collapsed lung. Were back home 3 days. Were called in to be told he has an aggressive cancer. Its chemotherapy and immune therapy . Had his 1st lot of chemotherapy last Thursday. Was rushed into hospital again with multiple infections. Sepsis.
I've come home for a night off. 1 of my daughter's is going to do the night shift. I need a rest and some sleep. Decided to listen to drown out the silence. Horrible what shit goes through your head when you have time to think. So abi family. I need your prays. Got a hard fight ahead.
Oh Debbie, I’m so sorry to hear you’re going through such a terrible time. Your poor husband. 🙏 You’re in my prayers. Much love and lots of gentle bear hugs. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
🤣🤣We should have waited for you in the street when the bar started to empty. We then tthought you were probably going straight to the party.Anyway, we ended up at the Colbert for a late snack which is a great people watching place😃
Heel hee!We were in the bar looking at both exits.. Never mind. We went for a late snack at the Colbert around 10.20pm as everyone was being thrown out of the bar.
Sorry I called you Trudie in last msg! don't usually comment much. I have a bit of catching up to do
Wow.A fabulous run down of the concert.Clodagh and I thought the same about Madeline. We haven't heard a voice like it👌The whole show was moving and we also experienced some euphoria. It was great to meet you, Jules, Suzanne and Shouty mum, briefly, in the interva tool.We could see you all opposite us in the theatre. We did wait in the bar for you 10mins after and left thinking you must have gone out another exit...What a shame because we would have loved to join you all for a drink at the Fox and Hounds! We just weren't up for travelling across town for a late after party as we were staying at the Sloane Place Hotel.Anyway, next time!😃❤️
So pleased you met my wonderful 'God-Sister' Suzanne and the absolutely gorgeous Holly! Just wish that I could manage to do something like that, but I'm well beyond it now sadly ...
Hey Abi, speaking of old TV shows (you mentioned This Life), remember the series Survivors? Two versions of it, both good. Greg (Ian McCulloch) is the angsty white guy in the original, and in the other version Greg was played by the excellent Paterson Joseph.
Oh my GOD I can’t believe my old brain forgot the gorgeous Catherine and Clodagh!! For fuck’s sake. I shall make amends with a mention on tomorrow’s pod!!
We had such a fantastic evening! Madeleine and concert were brilliant! It was so great to meet you Abi and Trudi, although very briefly. Catherine and I waited in the bar /foyer for a while afterwards, but assumed you had left for the party. Such a pity we didn't meet at the local pub. Hope to meet you again another time soon. Xx
No worries Abi🤣It was great to briefly meet.We would have joined you for a drink at the Fox and Hounds but were too tired to go across town for after party.Next time!❤️😃
Never in my life did I think I would get this text “just at Euston waiting for Shouty”.. honestly Jules just brilliant. You are a beautiful girl Shouty Mum it was such a pleasure to meet you all x ❤️

Well I spent the weekend in Manchester as I was supporting team lads like us who were running the marathon in memory of Benjamin.
They smashed it and raised £2k for a suicide prevention charity ( papyrus)
It was bloody freezing and I’m now full of the cold and feel like poo.
I had a phonecall yesterday from BBC radio Leicester as they’d seen posters about my choir I’ve set up for those affected by suicide.
So I will be live on air next Thursday 😊
Glad you all had a good time at the concert
Aww Catherine, we did look for you but we were getting ejected by the gestapo staff.
