Hi ABi, am half way through your podcast and got to the bit about high blood pressure. Oats for breakfast and onion soup for lunch sorted it for me. I was prescribed statins, which I didn't take, and went to my friend a Naturopath. Went back to GP 3 weeks later and she was ecstatic that BP was fine, didn't have the heart to tell her I hadn't been taking her medications.

You should tell her, prove that their poison is just that, poison.

Twitter hasn’t been the same for me for weeks, the constant barrage of bots on all my posts and replies. My account is now locked.

The big blue accounts, I’ve mostly blocked.

I’ve seen so many pick a side shit, it’s depressing so I ignore it all and just keep scrolling.

My local M&S is within walking distance and all the staff are amazing and so kind.

My mum used to give us mashed bananas with milk and a sprinkle of sugar, it was fab.

Yes, I’ve heard that about grapefruit affecting some medications.

I was perma banned from twitter over two yrs ago ( second perma ban ) an never went back. that said was constantly exposed to forwarded stuff on telegram an WhatsApp groups. left them all for this reason cause was seriously effecting mental health. even though I missed some of the social, the cost of being exposed to contact images an propaganda wasn't worth it

Everything is just too much to deal with right now. I’ve left Telegram and it will be 2 years in December since I left Facebook. I’m still on Twitter but selective in what I read. I get sent so many articles to read, comment and repost but there are just too many to read unless I want to spend my every waking hour on my iPad. The graphic pictures on Twitter and the inevitable WWIII looming doesn’t help with my state of mind or my general health.

I did purchase a VPN this week as Rumble is now banned in France and the Canadian government require all podcasters to register with them. I fear that without a personal VPN I won’t be able to view the podcasts I want to read as our freedom of speech is being eroded. For anyone interested I got my VPN from www.expressvpn.com It works as an added security system too and protects your iPhone and iPad on public networks.

agree re #together. 💯

blood pressure... hydration SO important including electrolytes ( all six but especially potassium an magnesium).

Also good salt. ( whole salt not just sodium). I use a good sea salt an avoid processes foods as much as possible.

Best way I've found to do this is a combo of return to grandparents diet as you describe plus pimping up with nut/seed mixes, avocados an olive oil or real butter/dairy not spreads or seed oils.

soups, bone broths an hot drinks a fairly recent revelation also. ( love beetroot soup ) . I drink coffee but not too much.

sometimes I find it good to just have a coffee an not eat for a few hours to give body a rest.

nut/seed mix added ro yogurt, salads or porridge such a good way to get extra minerals of all types.

avoiding sugar as much as possible. I actually thing a cold beer or couple of glasses of wine is healthier than sugar of any kind. obviously alcohol is a difficult balance one or two healthy but beyond not so much. alot of wine an beer is heavily processed, choose well. less but better ( I worked for 13 yrs in the wine trade and over 20 in the drinks trade ). spirits, often the sugary addition is worse. fever tree are some of the best mixers or neat.

I have never smoked but notice smokers don't eat or drink much fluids ( apart from alcohol ) so by definition must have serious electrotyte imbalance.

walking 🚶‍♀️essential best excercise ever imo. 20 mins, 30 mins, 35 mins, 50 mins, 1hr etc all brilliant an practical to fit in somewhere. briskly an get the lymphatic system moving.

Resting. don't sleep in chair especially with legs crossed. lay down flat when tired an rest heart properly.

This 👆 all works. especially electrolyte balance ( which is specific to individuals example how much you sweat etc ). spent most of summer in greece including manual work during the heatwave 47c an electrotyte balance learned over years plus new knowledge from the Greeks had phenomenal results. I was astonished at greeks well into their 80s coping fine an Europeans half their age FUCKED.

many of my friends an family are on blood pressure meds an never seem to resolve anything. In fact they mostly end up even more disregulated.

I'm 50 an on no meds of any kind an feel good. if I get depressed due to current events an drink too much or overeat I get back to above as best an quickly as I can.

sorry for length of post, hope its useful. It's something I feel passionate about an always making little tweaks as I learn more 🙏

thank.you Jane. I think a gin an tonic is perfectly healthy. essential even. likewise love to make from scratch except bread. when I visit Ireland I get homemade bread it's incredible. also as you, the same, the occasional takeaway. why not, its important to honour the labrador side of ourselves. atleast that's my excuse anyway 😊. have a lovely weekend. awesome to be med free isnt it 🤜🤛

I had breast cancer 11yrs ago.I had the left breast off and then chemo and radiotherapy.I was fine through my chemo because I was living on superfoods. It was Summer so I had lots of asparagus and then plenty of eggs, fish and even wine.Other people weren't eating and had a terrible time. The NHS were pushing that rotten Complan onto them.Shocking.I used to walk home after my chemo and always wore a pretty dress and my Mac red lippy(Ruby woo) It just made me feel good and the nursing staff said that I brought some positivity into the ward.Others were staring up at the ceiling, during chemo, whereas I took in my Vogue magazines. That also brought me some joy😃

P.s Your Granny sounds just like my Granny. She always had a non processed home cooked balanced diet. She liked a half a beer if out, a g&t at 6pm, wine with evening meal and a whisky and milk before bed.She also played golf, loved gentle walks and and never had any pills that everyone is on nowadays. She lived until she was 94ys❤️

Dearest Abi, Having not seen you in the flesh, as it were (my loss), might I guess you are of a certain age and that perhaps your waistline is expanding accordingly? Well, if so I can guarantee that weight loss will reduce your blood pressure.

Low carb Keto is the way to go (DietDoctor has loads of free recipes and articles). Also carnivore (beef butter bacon and eggs) and/or Lion diet (meat and water). You can then do some fasting and your body will heal.

The advice to eat like our grandparents did is spot on (a lot like keto, just restrict the carbs more).

Otherwise you will end up with a cupboard full of supplements and a lighter purse. (Speaking from experience).

Go sit in the park and feed the birds and ducks some pumpkin seeds.

Much love x

Loved tonight's POD abi. I will be ordering my pumpkin seeds and 90% cocoa dark chocolate. I think I may have high blood pressure as I had to go to my chemist for medication for a urinary tract infection. They contacted the GP who in turn text me about an appointment to come in and get it checked. Was all for going when the surgery left a voice message to cancel..

They then sent me a text message to say I never turned up. Needless to say I have no hope with any medical people. Make it make sense

they sent me a notification to join a program to give up smoking. ive never smoked 🤷‍♂️. ive since de-registered in protest at their behaviour over the last years I wouldn't want anyone associated with the NHS to ever touch me in any circumstance or context an told them so. id rather die than be defiled by them. where kids are concerned is another matter but would certainly try to avoid them as mich as possible

The GP surgery gets paid for lowering your blood pressure quickly so they prescribe statins🤦🏼‍♀️

Expand full comment

Local chemist should be able to do your blood pressure, sadly it's important to get checked but if it is not too high then try to avoid meds like Abi is and make lifestyle changes.

if you can get some unsweetened cranberry juice this is very helpful to flush out infection. watch that sugar is not replaced with artificial sweeteners. you can get concentrate tart cranberry juice online an water down to taste.

Hi Abi, found you after your Delingpod and you do make me laugh, thank you! Went to the Gary Bunt exhibition on your recommendation and completely adored it! Cutting sugar and carbs along with all your walking will help the high blood pressure, no need to reduce salt!

Sending love and best wishes for you to keep spreading the word xx
