On train when they start with their logo see it, say it - at the end I say in a loud voice and sort it yourself 😊usually creates a little laugh in the carriage x
We saw it, we said it and they called us "far right" and "Conspiracy Theorists".
When you spoke about grief it brought to mind something I read recently on re-reading The Lord Of The Rings:.
"Well," answered Merry slowly "He is dead. It has brought it all back to me. I shan't ever be able to smoke (the pipe) again without thinking of him, and that day."
"Smoke, then, and think of him!" said Aragon "For he was a gentle heart and a great king and kept his oaths; and he rose out of the shadows to a last fair morning. Though your service to him was brief, it should be a memory glad and honourable to the end of your days."
I applied this to my own grief, I lost my Mum 5 years ago. She loved a party and always made sure everyone had a glass and it was refilled before it had a chance to be emptied. (Trust me Abi, you would have loved her!)
For years I couldn't listen to music that reminded me of her. She loved Soul and Motown and her favourite album was Hunky Dory by David Bowie. Songs like "Walking in Rhythm" by Blackbyrds or "You know how to love me" by Phillis Hyman would always be playing in the background.
Remembering our loved ones always brings a tear to our eye but do we ever really want that to change?
Thanks as always Abi, your show helps people in a way you'll never know x
Listening to the dystopian convo regarding your pipes (matron!)
Well, if people get too cold, there are lots of...alternative fuel sources about. To be honest, that is probably what they are trying to push people to do. Then, starvation.
Sounded like a lovely trip up to Durham to be with loved ones. You must be busy over December so I'm sure many of us wouldn't mind less Abi Daily podcasts in a week anyway....
