We were forecast sun all day today but surprise surprise the sky was grey all day and it was chilly......the sun came out at 7 pm!
That Hardeep was a weird unlikeable character when he was in the Big Brother house if I remember correctly. I bumped into his brother Sanjeev (who played Naveed) in Still Game in Glasgow once and he seemed really nice.
I love Edinburgh and have had some great times there, days out at the Fringe, alcohol in the afternoon with the girls, a show and late train home. Last year felt surreal but I was there with normies and there was a lot of foreigners in masks about too which freaks me the fuck out (the masks not the foreigners).
They don't want it to end.. The nostalgia of the nightly broadcast with the eminent scientists and BJ..the DEATH stats.. The queuing snake outide waitrose with the stickers measured 6 feet apart telling us where we had to stand. The masks.. The gloves.. the stay at home mandate.. Oh yes and the Thursday night clapping.. the rainbows.. 🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑
I too love the Russian writers and I think they are the best. My favourite is Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. I read it many many years ago and it blew me away. The Beddgelert story was familiar to me as both my parents were Welsh so I remember visiting as a child and crying when I heard the story.
I feel the Gelert story is allegorical, evidenced by it being replicated and predated. Today many of us are seen as the Wolves by the Normies, whilst in fact we are actually trying to protect them and their children from the pure evil that is attacking them. And in the same way as with the tale of Gelert, they focus their ire in the wrong direction 😞🙏💙
Hey Abi, sorry i haven’t commented much lately life has been somewhat challenging after the radiotherapy( its been an absolute bitch😩) still been listening to the pod( when i can stay awake)loved meaningful Wednesday it bought back memories of my own when you told the Beddgelert story. My late grandma and grandad used to have a caravan in Criccieth as a kid i went there loads of times with them and remember them taking me to visit Beddgelert and about the story and we also went on the Ffestiniog railway thanks for reminding me of those beautiful times i still have a little tapestry purse they bought for me from there. These memories are priceless and mean a lot i just wish i could erase the awful memories from the past 3+ years and bring back our lost loved ones, it was 2 years on a Monday since i lost my lovely mum. Thanks again Abi.....love to everyone....Lisa xx
LOVED this meaningful Wednesday Abi. My book of all time is Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky, been re-reading it for decades and it's never felt more topical for a rather old book! As you say, the big themes of life were all being played out for us these past three years. My theory is a lot of people lack meaning and real affection in their lives and chose to see a benevolent largesse in the machinations of the Government diktats, as though these measures were benign and loving. Re your trainer, I know exactly what you mean about the bedding in time! I started with a new trainer a few weeks ago, early twenties to my late fifties and I thought the match may not work but it's getting better each session. Let it unfold a bit longer like you say. Re twitter, I'm pretty much all done with it now. It's negative central quite apart from the shadowbanning., an endurance test. I've no clue how to use Telegram other than on my phone and I'm pretty much too blind to read it on there. Getting old's not for sissys right enough!

Love the Beddgelert tale. Xx
Yeah Sanjeev is really nice from what I know of him. Hardeep gave me the creeps.
Isn’t it weird how memories come flooding back about people?
Cheryl was a great tonic today 🤣🤣

Been a cold start but then it was nice. But we not used to it are we? Good for you persevering with the trainer.
