Brilliant theatre reviews. Sometimes the affinity we feel to others is inexplicable. You can often sense authenticity and vulnerabilities.
I do understand the importance of the Trump stuff. I pay attention but the increasing theatrics makes me want to detach from it all. Other than offer my opinion I’m not sure how I can change anything on that front.
So nice to hear from Lisa. I hope and pray the prognosis improves. I’m rooting for you Xx
Lisa you have been through so much and are such a brave soul. As for people who live in hotels well i can think of several thousand who don’t actually pay a penny to be there! Sad mad times we live in x
I loved this pod. There’s nothing quite like theatre it’s been a massive part of my life with Holly. I’ve seen her in some really wonderful plays over the years and thought wow that’s my daughter, very emotional really. My Dad called me a stage door Johnny 😉 because I was always hanging round waiting for her at the end. Table 7 sounds fantastic I haven’t seen it, it’s on my list now.
Lisa is remarkable what a brilliant woman, sending her love as always xx
Sending you, Lisa, my very warmest regards from me here in British Columbia, Canada. I hope you are able to relax between times and give yourself a pat on the back for being such a tough lady. Cheers to you, and Abi and all 🍻
People living in hotels makes me think of Fawlty Towers. When you see the prices of care homes, it might actually work out as quite a good deal. My friend's father-in-law is being charged £1,200 a week at the moment, and his (and his wife's) meagre life savings, that they hoped to leave to their children/grandchildren, are being gobbled up by it.
Just catching up on episodes today. Really enjoyed your take on 'Separate Tables'. There was a great film version from the 1950s where David Niven played the Major and Deborah Kerr played the girl that befriends him.
This brought back memories for me because in 2006 when I was in Sixth form, I had to do a verbal presentation comparing and contrasting two films with common ground. I chose the 1950s version of 'Separate Tables' and the 2002 film based on the Philip Roth novel 'The Human Stain' where Anthony Hopkins plays a University lecturer who is deplatformed after someone interprets a comment he makes as being racist. It's funny because I don't remember myself as being particularly awake or even very worldly wise at that point in my life, but looking back I did this presentation on cancel culture and the injustice of deplatforming people, well before it was something that was talked about a lot.
Another thought provoking Meaningful Wednesday pod.
It's not much of a surprise that ruthless Israeli property developers and Trump would think of turning Gaza into a holiday resort.Only psychopaths would think that holiday makers would want to whoop it up on the Gaza strip!Shocking!
Great to hear an update from dear Lisa. It sounds like you're coping with all the treatments as best you can Lisa. Now is the time to do exactly as you please and not to worry about entertaining anybody. It was very thoughtless of people to be coming round at Christmas!

Yes, good point Roz. They are the only ones who can ‘afford’ it.
I’m looking forward to a fortnight in Gaza next year. The Benidorm of the holy land! 😳🤷♂️😂😂😂😂😂😂
