Dearest Trudi

I just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and Benjamin today. We will never forget him, or the government's criminal actions that led to this unspeakable tragedy.

We will see justice done.

Much love

As Abi says good grief Jan. What a ridiculous system how do they expect Margo to attend a normal school? If they can't find a special needs school to take her, is there any way of going under the definition of homeschooling and then looking at any possible financial help to pay for a tutor? I maybe talking nonsense btw I have no idea.

Hi Suzy,

I think Kent County Council would be less than enthusiastic to pay for home schooling although it may come to that. KCC are looking into the possibility of sending Margot to school in another borough, Surrey or Sussex. KCC would have to pay for that and arrange daily transport for Margot. Margot is very frail and lengthy travel times every school day would be too much for her. The problem is finding a suitable school that can manage Margot’s multiple disabilities and for her to be in a safe environment. The best option would be for the school that has refused Margot to reconsider. We live in hope.

This is very upsetting to hear how Jan's son, Margo and the family are being treated. Jan my heart goes out to you and your family and I wish you all the best fighting this broken system and getting the help Margo needs.

Beautiful poem Abi and beautifully read, very apt for the times.

Thank you so much Wendy. The system is definitely broken but we fight on.

Thank you for reading this Abi. And special poem.

Jan, I am so sorry. What self-serving and utterly callous behaviour . Joining everyone here in sending you strength and love. Big hugs to Margo.

Jan's story leaves me speechless. We now live in a society where NOTHING works anymore. This would not have happened years ago. Society looked after each other. Where are the bloody clergy in these situations???? Too busy trying to save the planet!!! 🤬 It seems the most desperate and needy are no longer worth the effort to these institutions. The utter wretchedness of these institutions should hang their heads in shame. Love to Jan and her family 🇦🇺

Thank you Alannah. Yes, where are the clergy? My local church took lockdown to the letter and like so many churches closed its doors at a time when people really needed them. I went on holiday to the New Forest after the first lockdown and the church in the village there was still going to continue with zoom services!

Hello Abi and friends..

Yes, once again sweltering but we've had it in years past, so why put the fear of God into everyone, on MSM ( as usual ) ..

Agreed with your comments on the stupid , hopeless masks, to hear doctors going on about them and urging them be worn, sickens me!

Heartbreaking issue from Jan re her granddaughter Margot and her worried parents, this disgusting country gets worse by the day. I do hope she will be found a suitable nearby school placement. Fight, and fight again.

Giggling re your "getting wigs for" new characters on Twat etc.

Your poem was thought provoking and raised awarenesss of what's going on globally right now.

Now the TV is waffling on about lack of water, standpipes etc. For goodness sake SHUT UP, it's happened before and it will happen again. The planet does what it always does!

Temperature tomorrow here on Suffolk/Norfolk border is forecast to be around 23c, much more comfortable.

Love and best wishes to everyone who pops on here, and catch you all soon..

Jan xx

Jan, I am so sorry to hear the struggles your family is facing at the moment, Margo deserves an education and has a right to be taught in a school that can meet her needs. It’s hard enough having a disabled child without going through this unnecessary stress, I really hope this situation is resolved before September. I have experienced similar difficulties with my son who has Cystic Fibrosis, obviously it’s not on the same scale but I can empathise with your family and understand the frustration you feel. Sending all my love and keep us updated.

Excellent poem Abi, I felt it tied in nicely after Jans letter there’s a message for us all there!

Thank you Catherine. My son and his wife have met a couple of families with disabled children who have been accepted for the September intake at this school. Those families are excited for their children as the school has a great reputation. While we are happy for those children it makes Margot’s rejection even harder to swallow. We haven’t given up but it is a struggle.

Apologies,

Jan, may I also recommend that your son has a copy of the schools inclusion policies, should they have them.

Margo clearly met their criteria initially, I’d want to know, what changed, when and why?

Good luck with it all.. #GOTEAMMARGO!!

The school said that they had never had a child with Rett Syndrome and that on review her needs are too complex for them to deal with. We fight on Trudi.

Evening all

I am incandescent with rage for Jan and her family. Every child has the right to an education. Poor Margo.

Contact the governors at the school and the local education dept at the council.

I’ve come across this so many times.

If we can do anything, let us know.

Give Margo a cuddle from us all, how dare they treat her this way!

I worked with SEN children of all ages within the education system and the things I’ve seen and heard still stay with me.

When you have a child with additional needs, as a parent , you have to fight for bloody everything, from getting a suitable wheel chair, to getting your home adapted.

The whole system is abhorrent and as you can guess from my response, I am enraged how these beautiful children are treated and deliberately excluded from all aspects of life.

There’s a wonderful school near me who get outstanding reports, this should be for all schools catering for children with disabilities and additional needs.

Sending love to you all Jan 💕💕💕

Wow!! That poem was powerful.. A thing with a face 😞

Nice to hear that you’re a bit brighter today Abi.

Have a great evening everyone.

Oh nearly forgot , sunny and warm in Leicestershire Peter 😉👍

Thankyou Heather, I get so much support from twitter and on here. So sad that my family and so called friends haven’t reached out to me.

Today should be a day to come together and share our memories of Ben, yet I’m on my own and trying to deal with it all.

Ben would hate it that his mum’s ostracised but it is what it is.

Sorry to whinge and thankyou again💙💙💙

I am so sorry to hear that Trudi it is just incomprehensible . Because they are asleep ? No need to reply but my heart goes out to you. Thankfully, as you say, there is our group and like minded souls on T. as support. I hope you are being very very kind to yourself today.

Thank you Trudi. My son Paul and his wife are fighting the system but it’s an uphill struggle. People think that if you have a disabled child that in 2022 everything is available to you to help that child. My family have to jump through hoops to get help, endless paperwork and obstacles at every turn. My son works for a wonderful company who have raised funds for Margot. If Margot had to rely on the State she would still be waiting for much of the equipment she needs. All disability aids are extremely expensive. Your suggestion of contacting the governors of the school is a great idea. I appreciate your help🤗

Always good to hear your podcasts Abi. Your a voice of sanity in an insane world! Of course we will win. We always do!. So sorry to about your situation Jan. How uncaring and cruel they have been. Hope everything works out very soon.

I hope your son is in a good school and thriving, bless him.

You battle with the schools, their appointed one on one hours which the child is entitled to, I know of a child having to be out of school due to their ‘helper’ hadn’t had relevant training to use a hoist!

It’s terrible and appears not to improve.

😞💖

Wearing a mask is a form of compliance and nothing to do with health imo. I have never worn a mask and never will. I’ve never complied with any Covid rules and never will. I will only travel to countries without any restrictions. I would dearly love to go back to America but while mandates are in place that will not be possible for now or may be ever.

I was always suspicious of the 💉from the very beginning. I’ve made some bad decisions in my life but thankfully I chose the right path in being a 🩸

We are unable to even get Ivermectin by prescription let alone over the counter in the UK. I take Vit C, D, Zinc and Quercetin daily and trust in my immune system which so far has served me well.
