There is, I think, a dangerous assumption from some that *everything* is faked. For example, I was schooled recently that nobody died in 9/11. I say dangerous, because if we are conditioned to believe that “nobody died” we are replacing our positive attributes of empathy and compassion with anger and cynicism towards people who are allegedly complicit with the authorities in deceiving us. Get it wrong just once, that we accuse a genuinely bereaved person of faking it, and we are significantly diminished.

I agree and that would be such a ridiculous stance to take that I would suspect anyone putting that view forward of being deliberately divisive

One can see videos of people jumping out the windows of the towers and hitting the ground and listen to hundreds of eyewitnesses say the exact same things that are on the videos and watch their reactions as they see people jump.

To say "no one died on 9/11" is the shittiest thing I have ever heard.

The intro was hillarious 😂

There has to be room in your set to shoehorn in a quick Cher auto tune impersonation :)

Great intro, I really laughed at that. Then you said “now you’ve got me onto music” like we’re in the room with you saying “go on abs, tells us about how overrated Adele is” 😂 PMSL.

I’m ordering my ‘We the people’ this week. I know exactly where one copy is going.

The delingpod sounds like it will be a bit spicy, two of my favourites, I’ll look forward to it.

I haven’t commented on the Manchester arena controversy so far but I can see all angles (sit on the fence why don’t you). There is a way of questioning though without saying it’s all fake.

I know it must have been a genuinely terrifying experience for hundreds of people and especially children who were there. The outpouring of public sympathy was certainly warranted. You’re right that we should never lose sight or forget the victims.

However, when Aisling spoke about Ole Dammergard I don’t think she fairly represented what he said. He was perplexed about the huge amount of inconsistency and can’t work out how it all fits together.

The reporting at the time about the little girl Saffy, did trouble me, as have other high profile and tragic deaths. I don’t know why her mum said on breakfast TV that she woke from a coma after 6 weeks to be told her daughter had died and yet a quick internet search brings back newspaper reports saying it was around 8 days later. That’s quite a discrepancy that doesn’t seem to have been corrected. I also question why the parents frequently appeared on TV and in the papers. Having lost someone very young I know that the last thing I would have wanted to do was go to a TV studio and talk about that trauma. Maybe it’s just me and I’m speaking out of turn but knowing how families react after a murder or extreme experience they just aren’t capable of facing that media glare. It’s normally at an inquest or many months/years later that they feel strong enough to make a public statement.

Grief DOES make people say and do strange things though, I understand that. It just seems weird to me. Same as Nicola Bulley’s husband. I’d just want to be with my kids and grieve quietly, like I say maybe it’s just different characters 🤷🏼‍♀️

Where is one copy going?

Some very fine observations Shouty 😀 You need to comment more often and not feel like you’re ‘speaking out of turn’. Not forgetting ‘Burny bumholes’ was one of the funniest posts, followed by one of the funniest pods 🤣

I went to Bob’s book signing on Friday night in London. Bob signed my book, which I treasure and Tania took some photos of me and Bob. I chatted to some lovely guys who were also there to get their books signed by Bob. These guys all had family and friends that no longer speak to them. It was like being with kindred spirits and feeling less alone in this mad world.

Not forgetting Adele had a strict vaccine passport policy for her gigs. Thousands and thousands, many of them youngsters, got a vaccine just to go see her 🤯

Exactly, I will never forget Adele’s insistence on the audience being jabbed to attend her shows. It’s a win win that she is retiring, both to music and the horrible person that she is.

So Adele has retired🤷‍♀️Thank God for that, I cannot stand her or her music. Adele obviously has enough money never to work again.

The Delingpole pod should be interesting if James doesn’t edit it too much😂

I know someone who was murdered at Manchester arena and I went to the funeral , very sad ,

And I know someone who was at the arena that night and saw the atrocities, so no not fake and the parents of saffi are still broken and moved to the other side of the country to try and find some sort of peace , but they are still suffering daily 🥲

Loved your into abi 👌🏽
