Ello. Your thought got me thinking about two things. The first was as a Christian I believe the fifth commandment about honouring parents. This is part of the moral law and we all know it’s important. The commandment means more than respect for parents, it means we must sit at the feet of past generations and learn from them including their accounts of how to world works and events they witnessed. The fifth commandment is key to transmitting the good solutions and understanding of the past to the next generation. When the fifth commandment is broken the new generations start from scratch and deny the past and the wisdom of past generations. The bolsheviks et all did that. The second thought was that there is a way of turning into what you are opposed to. The freedom movement can become so skeptical it undermines truth just like the woke and also so anti-history (the it’s all fake idea) that it becomes Maoist— delete the past, reject the older culture and build something entirely new. That view breaks the fifth commandment. I worry sometimes what would happen if some in the freedom movement actually got power!
