When you said Abi, that Roger Scruton was a devout Christian it reminded me that Gavin Ashenden has stated quite flatly that Roger Scruton wasn’t a Christian - (this was in a podcast maybe, with Delingpole or someone else, I can’t remember) - which surprised me as I’d assumed Scruton was a Christian. Suppose I should check with Gavin that he actually said this, but I can see from this interview with the existentialist Dutch chap that Scruton’s position is philosophically Christian of some kind or other? Maybe Gavin Ashenden has some rigorous devotion monitor that rejects all but the highly devoted as “saved”. I dunno.
