Sounds lovely to go away for some peace in the wilderness. Yes Poppy was typical CKCS, over lockdown and especially when my mum was hospitalised and my depression was so bad i could barely get out of bed bless her she never left my side. We rehomed her from someone at 8 weeks old she had been passed around and given away because she had a heart murmer so we knew potentially she wouldn't live to an age.She was a very special dog if you went out she wouldn't leave you alone when you came back in until she had given you a β€œPoppy hug” she literally used to hug you around the neck it was so lovely…… i miss her so much x

Seriously though, that’s great news regarding being a backing singer.

Lovely to hear you so excited about your evening and the people you metπŸ’–

Fab pod. Sounds like you had the best night to lift your spirits. Great news about the gig next April. You'll smash it. Caroline Aherne is a particular hero of mine. She left my all time favourite comedy series as her legacy, which I love so much. Mrs Merton was indeed a character who could get away with a lot! That line to Debbie the most memorable! x

Yes, just everyone remembers that line to Debbie McGeeπŸ˜‚ Yes, Caroline did marry a wealthy guy but it only lasted 3 years then he remarried the same year of their divorce!

Really enjoyed this one Abi - very upbeat and entertaining!! I would love to visit the 606 club - but maybe the tickets to be bought are for the 13th April?! Thrilled for you enjoy every minute. Caroline married Peter Hook. Lxx

Good to have you back Mrs, it’s tough at times for sure.

Too much information Abi, we’ve had your When Harry Met Sally moment, Swiss ball shenanigans, doing a poo when the Tesco man came calling and now the Brazilian wax visual all in the space of a fortnight wtaf??!! 😩

I’ve always thought that about β€˜if I was a sculptor but then again, no’ wtaf πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ I really like the Ewan McGregor version of the song from Moulin Rouge, it’s lovely with some opera in it and everything.

Sounds like a great night at the 606 Club, I have missed live music so much. It looks like another London trip is on the cards in April ffs πŸ˜…πŸ‘ Debbie McGee was too funny after Suzanne’s escapades. Imagine Michael Ball had been there!!!! Thanks Michael, we’ll let you know πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Ps I haven’t had a drink since Dundee either 🀣

Time for a few 🍸🍸🍸🍹🍹🍹then Jules. The Brazilian was taking the pod to another level! I’m all for being shaved in every area though, especially my men😏

Debbie McGee love her but I don’t look like her πŸ˜‰, similar type maybe. Loved Anita Harris too. I remember Talk of the Town my parents used to go. I remember my Dad in Vegas he saw Tom Jones was on at some hotel and was so disappointed he said he could have saved himself the trip and seen him in Wales πŸ˜‚. Great to hear you are back xx

So many of those singers like Tom Jones lose their voice when they get older. People like Elton John and Paul McCartney come to mind. Of course they use lip-sync and other audio aids. The ticket prices in Las Vegas are so high, I wouldn’t waste my money on these old timers who are well past their best.

Definitely agree they need to call it a day they all have so much money just in it for the adulation, when he was at Glastonbury it's was hilarious how the lovies were bigging him up fake acclaim.

You got Anita Baker, Abi.

Sounds like you had a great time at the 606 club Abi, just the tonic you needed. Step back whenever you need to Abi. Tbh, a daily pod is very hard to maintain and keep your sanity! Great news that you will be a backing singer for Madeline Bell next year.

I listened to a country song this morning by Luke Bryan, it was written in 2017 and this part of the lyric is ever more relevant today - β€œI believe if you just go by the nightly news your faith in all mankind is the first thing you lose”.

Great podcast. It was Peter Hook the guy Caroline Aherne married (in 1995 when she would have interviewed Debbie). Another rabbit hole when you look up some other the other names linked to Peter Hook....
