I’ve loved going back to vinyl. It feels like rebellion. It’s real, it’s tangible, you have ownership. Not just a few tunes in the ether to ‘stream.’ My defiance against all things ‘digital’ if you will.

Took my daughter vinyl shopping to our local market shop, she’s been listening to Mamma Mia a lot lately and one of her favourite tracks is slipping through my fingers.

If it isn’t this then she’s been playing the music from swan lake as she said it’s an amazing piece of work.

My daughter has just turned 18 and on the record buying trip last week she chose three classic music albums of Mozart, Chopin plus one that was a mixture.

She shocked me most when she picked an Elvis and Neil Diamond album along with soundtrack from the sound of music and west side story. It’s actually strange hearing this stuff played instead of the usual dross that most teenage girls fawn over these days.

As I’m an 80’s gal I love myself a bit of a mix that helped me stay sane watching on YouTube, these include Erasure, Tears for Fears, Depeche Mode, Spandau Ballet, Go West, Kim Wilde and I can’t help but stand and sing Midge Ure’s If I was anywhere I might be out when it comes on.

I can't say any particular thing got me through that was different to my usual music genre and I worked throughout but, my fight song while trying to keep my job without vaccination would be Uprising by Muse. It's particularly fitting:

Paranoia is in bloom

The PR transmissions will resume

They'll try to push drugs that keep us all dumbed down

And hope that we will never see the truth around

(So come on)

Another promise, another scene

Another packaged lie to keep us trapped in greed

And all the green belts wrapped around our minds

And endless red tape to keep the truth confined

(So come on)

They will not force us

They will stop degrading us

They will not control us

We will be victorious

(So come on)

Interchanging mind control

Come, let the revolution take its toll

If you could flick the switch and open your third eye

You'd see that we should never be afraid to die

(So come on)

Rise up and take the power back

It's time the fat cats had a heart attack

You know that their time's coming to an end

We have to unify and watch our flag ascend

(So come on)

They will not force us

They will stop degrading us

They will not control us

We will be victorious

(So come on)

They will not force us

They will stop degrading us

They will not control us

We will be victorious

(So come on)

I came across Luke Bryan last September by pure chance. I’ve never really been into country music but his music is more country/rock. I play his hits loudly and dance around the lounge, usually with a glass or two of Prosecco. His music makes me happy ……at least temporarily.

I can't listen to modern music anymore.

They all sold out, all pushed the vax, banned the unjabbed from their concerts and are murderers.

I listen to Handel's Messiah.

Handel’s Messiah is sublime. I often listen to Comfort Ye into Every Valley. Joyous.

The music just sounds so different on vinyl doesn't it. Nothing better than cranking up the volume on a weekend and annoying the neighbours 🤭

It really does, its great having the physical copies all the artwork etc, even my kids love em now. Plus it helps if you have a good system to play them on we have a Technics set up.

When we went on the most bollocks ski holiday ever to the wild, wet and windy Glencoe with our unvaccinated friends, our sport was arguing with the mask-nazi manager and our holiday anthem was Vance Joy - Hold the Line.

My music taste is pretty eclectic so I'm always listening to something (currently Kate Bush) and can't think of anything specific that got me through.

However whenever I was feeling pissed off at the world, particularly at the sleeping sheeple letting it all happen, nothing beats a bit of loud metal.

People=Shit by Slipknot is a good example.

Plus Wake up by Rage against the machine (even though in reality they were disappointing pharma/mandate shills, more Rage for the machine).🤘🤬

Been listening to a lot of “new” music on soundcloud. Loving stuff my son has introduced me to - beans on toast, but I still love the old 80s tunes. Takes me back to the days when I felt free! Girls just wanna have fun!
